What is Sales Pipeline?

A visual representation of deals at each stage of the sales process, from lead to closed-won (or closed-lost).

A sales pipeline is a Kanban-style view of deals at each stage of your sales process: New Lead → Qualified → Discovery → Proposal → Negotiation → Closed Won (or Closed Lost). Each deal card carries value, owner, expected close date, and notes. The pipeline is the most-used view in any CRM because it answers the universal sales question: where is each deal, and is it moving?

When to use

Keep stages tight - 5 to 7 is usually right. Too few and stages don't differentiate; too many and reps spend more time updating the CRM than selling.
